The Pump - Part 2
The incident that got me all fired up about the gas pump in the first place happened at a neighborhood station that I visit periodically. When I put the nozzle in the tank on this particular day, the meter immediately went to 11 cents and I hadn't even pulled the trigger yet!! Of course I marched right into that store and got my 11 cents. I've gotten 1 cent from a station because the meter just happenend to go over to $10.01 when I know how to stop it at $10.00. I just didn't start pumping gas yesterday. So now when I see the pump is skipping 2 and 3 cents I was furious. I looked up every number I could find to call to complain about what I had experienced.
I know it may seem like throwing a rock into the ocean, but even a rock makes a little ripple in the water. I had to make some type of stand for an injustice I felt was taking place even if nothing ever gets done about it.
Maybe I'm being paranoid about the whole thing because I think the big oil company is out to get me, but when every cent counts and I mean every cent, I want to know it's being spent on what I want and not based on somebody else wants for my money.
Okay, that's my soap box speech for the day.

I feel that with all that is going on in the world that it is important to choose our daily concerns/battles constructively. Just think about the time we spend being frustrated over gas, relationships, man's insistance to war with each other,as time away from the love and direction that God guarantees us everyday, if we keep our mind stayed on him. This gas pump issue is irritating to all of us, but we must put all of our daily frustrations in perspective. I am choosing to be less by frustrated daily events, that are generated by men who have little spiritual integrity or less conscience because of the lack of the means to understand that we are all children of God and if we steal from one of Gods children you ultimately hurt yourself. So when I see the gas pump skip I thank God that there is still enough gas to get me to my distination and that through God there is noting but infinate abudance. As we strive for the spiritual knowledge, abundance is a given. I am not saying that we turn a blind eye, but deal with issues that give us a more directed eye.
